In kindergarten, nobody spits
As an Eagles fan and former Kindergarten teacher I wanted to say a word about what happened in last night’s Eagles game.
Your sweet children are watching and listening to your responses to the event and what you say shapes their character.
In Kindergarten we don’t spit. Ever. Not first, not last. There is no spitting.
If someone hits and you hit back you are both in trouble. No hitting.
We create a team. We were the Tigers. Tigers take care of each other.
The Eagles are a team in a sport that is rough.
Kudos to the gentlemen on this team who take care of each other and focus on the job.
Grace to the players who make mistakes,as we all do, and own up to them.
Today people are talking about the one who spit first. Parents: this is the wrong conversation. Please teach your children not to blame someone else for their hurtful behaviors. Teach your children to be kind and walk away and ask for help if they are offended.
Making your class, your family, your community better happens one lesson at a time.
Just Be Kind!
