My friend, Maureen, found this adorable mask for me. Recently, I had some interesting experiences wearing it. I was picking up my car from service and expected not to have to go inside, since I had checked out online. To my dismay, I had to go in anyway. Ugh, Covid. I was about to express my disappointment when I realized I was wearing the kindness mask. Reset. On a positive note, I wore the mask to take my husband for a health screening and the nurse looked at me and said,”Could you stay here all day with that mask?” Big smile. This little mask reminds me to walk the talk!
Neither of these experiences had anything to do with choosing whether or not to wear a mask. The choice was how to behave.
I think we have forgotten how to behave from time to time. Other countries are calling Americans “selfish” and I don’t believe we ALL are selfish. However, looking at some scary newsfeeds leads me to believe that there is room for improvement. Maybe we need to focus just a little more on putting others first and a little less on ourselves. The joy the comes from lifting others up comes right back to the one giving the lift. In this crazy time, we all need a lift.
Where have you seen or received kindness? What do you do when the person pulled in the parking spot you were waiting for?
Just Be Kind
